We have 2 vending locations to fill for the labour day long weekend. This is one of the best ways to close out the summer for many locals and tourist. The blues bash fills the harbour with music from Saturday to Monday and the Classic boat show creates eye candy for thousands of people all weekend long. Musicians and street performers entertain hundreds of people every day along the causeway area. First nation carvers and artists fill the South causeway under the Welcome to Victoria sign. The next big weekend is Labour Day long weekend
This is also the same weekend as the Symphony Splash. The Symphony Splash attracts tens of thousands of people for an afternoon of music performed by the Victoria Symphony. A floating stage is created and placed in the harbour for the crowd to enjoy. The grand finale is fireworks in time with the Beethoven 5th. We have created a new area in the inner harbour for artist. This has created 5 new spaces. We are now taking applications for these new locations. We also have three locations along the causeway. These are full time locations for Artists only. Art has to be Artist made artist sold. We are not looking for jewelry unless the objects are 100 % hand crafted from raw material. Attention Street performers The City of White Rock is organizing the inaugural White Rock Buskers Festival. The festival strives to broaden the scope of work, improve visibility and skills of the artists involved in the craft of street performing, to increase community engagement and awareness as to the artistry and talent of street and busking performers both locally, nationally and internationally. We are seeking a wide variety of street performers to busk at four locations in Uptown White Rock. Successful applicants will perform two - forty five minute sets on Saturday, May 5, 2018. Performers will be remunerated based on ability, however we have a limited budget and a short timeline to fill all the spots. Please note that these are not musician spots. Due to construction on the pier we will be move west on the pier to let the engineers get some work done. The Night Market is transforming into a weekend market. Setting up on the Friday at 4 pm and staying set up over night with on site security and the the resuming in the morning starting at 10:30 am. to 10:30 pm The great news is that we set up once and take down once. We have three openings on the Causeway for full-time food carts. We are looking for unique food items that will add to the diversely in the inner harbour.
